The iPhone prototype that was lost in a Redwood City, Calif bar by a mid-level Apple developer was later purchased by a tech blog, Gizmodo.com ( part of Gawker Media’s blog network ). Silicon Valley police are investigating the transaction, which may have violated criminal laws. The investigation is being conducted supposedly by a computer crime task force led by the Santa Clara County district attorney’s office. Gizmodo had previously announced that they would be willing to pay for yet to be released Apple products.
