Yahoo Messenger 10 Boosts Video Conferencing Performance

September 6th, 2009

One year ago, Yahoo rolled out Messenger 9 with video conferencing abilities. It was not a strong competitor to Skype, but was an obvious direction for the IM powerhouse.

With Yahoo Messenger 10, video quality will be greatly improved making the tool a strong competitor with Skype for Windows users.

Yahoo Messenger 10 will not support screen sharing–unlike Skype which has already rolled out the feature.

In order to use Yahoo Messenger 10 you will need Windows XP or better with a 1GHz CPU processor and 512MB of RAM and an internet connection of 300Kbps download speed and a minimum of 128Kbps upload.
