Microsoft Admits Linux Threat

August 6th, 2009

For the first time ever, Microsoft has named two Linux distributions  as competitors to its Windows client business. This admission was filed in a report to the annual filing to the US Securities and Exchange Commission. As a result of the increased use of inexpensive netbooks which has been gaining huge popularity and the fact that Linux now comes pre-installed on some netbook options, Linux market share is expanding.
